Kristen and Le’Raven were married on February 17th at Olde Dobbin Station, the perfect setting for their 500 guests! The day was filled with love, laughter and many happy tears! Their love for each other, their families and God is a sight to see! The first time I talked to Kristen about Le’Raven she lit up! She told me she knew this was the man God created for her. They first met when her brother played football with Le’Raven at Texas Tech and brought him hunting with their family. After years of being just her brother’s friend Le’Raven finally reached out and started messaging Kristen. Since Le’Raven moved in Indianapolis to play for the Colts they just continued to talk as friends, but after a year they finally expressed their feelings for each other. Le’Raven knew Kristen was the girl for him and wanted her in Indianapolis with him as soon as possible so he asked her to marry him after 6 months of officially dating. She, of course, said yes and their journey to happily ever after started. This first look was perfect! They were so excited to see one another and to become husband and wife. Kristen even gave a strut to show off her dress to her groom.
There has never been a person that K + L have met that they haven’t welcomed with open arms and made them feel instantly loved. This was very obvious when it came to how far and how many of their guests came to shower them with love. The support these two were shown was inspiring! Kristen has always been the girl to go hunting and fishing with not only her dad but all of her uncles. All this quality time spent together have made them more like father figures to her rather than uncles. So it was only fitting when asked who will give this woman away, after her dad said “her mother and I”, they all stood up and said “we do too.” I think the look on Kristen’s face says it all!
Kristen and Le’Raven chose to do a foot washing ceremony after saying their vows and we love the symbolism this represents. This ceremony comes from the book of John which illustrates Jesus choosing to wash his disciples’ feet at the Last Supper. It is significant because it was customary for the disciples’ feet to have already been washed by a servant and not necessary for Jesus to do so. Jesus’ choice to wash their feet was to set an example about humble service towards others. Kristen and Le’Raven perfectly illustrated this service towards one another during their own foot washing ceremony while sitting on a bench that Kristen and her father built together. Kristen’s color scheme of pink, ivory and sage was the perfect compliment to Olde Dobbin Station‘s natural beauty. Every piece of her decor she chose looked like it belonged and made you fill at home. Our Elizabeth Cart even made an appearance as a popcorn and cookie bar! Michael with Signature Event had everyone up on their feet, learning every move from a country two step to the floss! What wedding would be complete without the Aggie War Hymn and the Texas Tech fight song! Kristen and Le’Raven, you were a joy to work with and two of the sweetest people I know! My prayer for you is that you always have God at the center of your marriage and continue to joke with each other as you do now!
