Kristin and Kody were married on February 16th at The Farmhouse. Despite a dreary forecast everyone was beaming with excitement for K+K! I can promise you, you have never seen a more elegant couple than these two and their entire wedding day reflected just that!
Kristin was a dream to work with throughout the planning process! I loved how organized and detail oriented she was, not to mention she is sweet as pie. I loved her so much that at her final planning meeting I (half) jokingly offered her a job. As setup was underway, the entire venue was filled with laughter as the girls were getting ready and having impromptu dance parties in the bridal suite. The guys enjoyed themselves passing the time by playing cornhole in the courtyard at The Farmhouse.
Kristin was a stunning bride with classically elegant taste, from the invitations suite to the florals to her gown – I can see her wedding details being in-style for years to come. She chose dusty blue, floor length gowns for her maids which complimented her ivory, pink, and gold color palette perfectly. The bible instructs us to not only honor our spouses but to take delight in honoring them. “Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring one another.” Romans 12: 10 No matter the situation while planning the wedding, any time I spoke to Kristin or Kody separately they both spoke so highly of each other and their affections for the other was written all over their face. I mean how could you not fall in love with this elegant color palette. You could see the touches of the dusty blue placed carefully throughout the entire wedding.
At the rehearsal I remember asking Kody how he was feeling and if he was nervous at all. He quickly replied, “I’m about to marry the most beautiful girl in the world so I’m doing pretty great!”
We all know that we’re supposed to honor our significant others and when you’re engaged and even a newlywed honoring them comes easy. Seasoned marriages will tell you that sometimes finding delight in honoring their spouse after picking up their underwear off the floor for the millionth time maaaay be a little more difficult. After witnessing Kristin and Kody’s first look, hearing them read their letters, and seeing them recite their vows to one another I honestly believe this commandment will come easy to them. Kristin and Kody, my prayer for you is that you look back on your wedding day and realize that this is when you loved each other the least. Five, ten, and even fifty years from now I hope your love for one another continues to grow. And I pray you still have impromptu dance parties together when you’re ninety.
