We are four days (4!) away from Christmas and I’m giddy with excitement! Our house smells of Christmas cookies, Bing Crosby is singing while I type this and I can’t help but think of all the sweet girls who are about to get the best gift of all … a FIANCÉ!
Did you know that Christmas Day is the most popular day of the year to get engaged? In fact, the wedding industry has developed the term “Bridal Christmas” for the months of January and February because during this time venues and vendors will book anywhere from 40-60% of their clients during these months – that’s crazy!
Since a wedding venue is usually the first thing most brides want to cross off their list, we wanted to put together a list of our 5 favorite wedding venues in the Houston area. Pour yourself {another} cup of coffee, sit back and relax because this post is bursting with helpful information for you!
Please note: venues are listed in alphabetical order, not preference.
Magnolia Meadows
This is the newest wedding venue on our list. They hosted their very first wedding back in October and guests loved the venue’s rustic charm. Their pergola is the perfect setting for outdoor ceremonies while their barn provides an excellent option for an indoor ceremony. From the chandeliers to the large oak doors custom touches can be seen throughout.
Both the bridal suite and the groom’s lounge have windows for overlooking wedding day setup.
Spacious counters, large mirrors, and an abundance of outlets – it’s no wonder bridal parties love getting all dolled up in here!

McGovern Centennial Gardens
This beautiful venue is located in the heart of Houston’s vibrant Museum District. From their Celebration Garden to the indoor pavilion they have stunning amenities to fit your event needs. The various gardens and pathways for strolling are a photographer’s dream to photograph. Our favorite view? The top of the spiral path that will give you a bird’s eye view of the entire garden – so dreamy!

Olde Dobbin Station
Olde Dobbin Station is one of the original venues to debut in the North Houston area. You can’t replicate history and this wedding venue is definitely one of a kind with its concrete architecture and vintage charm. From the custom window panes to the handcrafted oak doors brides come from all over Texas to get married here.
The climbing ivy on the walls is one of my favorite features.
This year Olde Dobbin Station’s chapel was restored. Not wanting to alter the original architecture too much, the owners made the tough decision to enclose the chapel and make it climate controlled. I think the grooms have been especially grateful since they now have a space all to themselves to get ready in.

The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse opened in January of this year and we had the privilege of coordinating their first wedding. You would have thought they had been in business for years already with how well everything flowed! With a calendar already overflowing into 2019, brides are certainly eager to get their date set at this modernized white barn. Out of all of the wedding venues in Houston, I have no doubt Chip and JoJo would choose The Farmhouse to get married again if they had to. Afterall, it is what shiplap dreams are made of!
Harp Design Co. designed and built seven custom farm tables just for Farmhouse brides.
Their “little” white chapel can accommodate up to 300 guests and has a beautiful view overlooking their pond and horses out to pasture.
I’m certain every photographer and makeup artist has shed a tear or two overseeing this wedding venue’s gorgeous bridal suite. You couldn’t ask for more natural light!

The Vine
The Vine is located in the heart of Texas and is the perfect infusion of luxury and rustic aesthetics. This one of a kind wedding venue had it’s first birthday in July and man are they rocking and rolling! The estate is perfectly perched on 23 beautiful acres featuring a gorgeous view of their vineyard and lake. Their first harvest is expected in 2019 and brides will be able to take home their own brand of wine from their wedding to crack open on anniversaries to come!
Their cathedral shaped windows let in tons of natural light in the chapel.
It’s become customary for couples to ring the Union Bell after they’ve been pronounced husband and wife.
With five (5!) sets of custom, glass barn doors every bride is eager to have her portrait taken in front of at least one set.
Brides are invited to take engagement or bridal portraits amongst the 9,000 vines that are quickly growing.
Brides and grooms both get their own cottages for getting ready. We’re in love with the mint green Wild Rose Cottage for the Bride’s Tribe to gather in. It has its own fireplace, front and back porches, full bathroom, full kitchen, and a makeup room fit for a queen!
The chapel’s soaring cedar beams take guests’ breath away upon entering for the first time.
Each end of the Barrel Barn is anchored by grandiose fireplaces. Brides also have the option of incorporating The Vine’s string lighting and custom farm tables which were handcrafted by the owner himself.
Pictures truly don’t do this wedding venue justice. Schedule your tour to see The Vine in person!
